Recently I had the pleasure of attended a show at Saks Fifth Avenue showcasing the new Lafayette 148 New York fall collection. I wasn't expecting a full runway presentation of their latest pieces at the event. So the unexpected was definitely a nice surprise. Watching the show honestly reminded me how much I truly do love the fashion industry. Not that I had forgotten. But getting outside our own bubble to explore and appreciate someone else's vision in person can be so inspiring. I really do need to get out more lol! Below are a few photographs from the evening as well as some of my fall fashion favorites that were highlighted in the show.
I couldn't be more thrilled that leopard print is still going strong in the limelight. Not that I would have stowed it away if it wasn't. But when the "trending gods" put their stamp and approval on it for the season it means we will have plenty of leopard print options in stores for inspiration and purchase.
I also adore this option below from H&M. I feel I need it! Click the photo for details.
Silk Scarf Neck Ties
Silk scarf neck ties are one of those features in a look that instantly exudes elegance. The top I chose to wear to the event happened to have one attached. So it was nice to see I was on trend with the designers vision for the season. Whew! 😉
The blouse I wore to the event is no longer available. However I found this stunner below. Love the touch of ruffle at the bottom of the sleeves.
A favorite I have seen this season are dark prints. While a lot of the Lafayette 148 NY collection showcased were solids. There were a few dark prints scattered throughout. It added a nice chic and romantic presence to the collection.
I am swooning over these lovely prints below as well.
Relaxed and Flowy Silhouettes
There was definitely a strong relaxed and flowy-ness amongst the collection that I absolutely loved. Whether it be in a loose untucked blouse over trousers, long flowy maxi dresses, or cozy oversized coats. When you can combine comfort and polished you have a win win in my books.
My friend Dawn showcased their gorgeous Navy Striped Long Cardigan and Ashlena Dress the evening of the show (photograph at the beginning of this post). It was even more gorgeous in person. She styled hers with a belt for a more cinched in look. So much versatility with that piece. It was my favorite from the fall line.
Below is a fun and affordable alternative.
This post was not sponsored in anyway. I just thoroughly enjoyed their fall collection and thought I'd share. You can have a further peek into their new fall collection and styling inspiration here.
