I know I’m not alone when I say that some days I just have no clue what to wear. Whether we have a wardrobe of abundance or limited options a style rut is bound to happen from time to time.
Even as a style blogger piecing together outfit after outfit for my blog can feel daunting at times. While I absolutely love the craft of wardrobe assembly, dressing to the nines all the time is not realistic. Nor is it even necessary.
Just because we are lacking inspiration and the creative juices aren’t flowing doesn’t mean looking like a bum is our only resort.
I find during those times when I’m feeling uninspired with my wardrobe options (like I did preparing for this shoot) simply leaning on the basics will do the trick. It’s almost like it re-centers you on a clean slate and eliminates all the unnecessary efforts to complicate things. It can be so liberating and freeing that I actually now prefer mostly basics in my own personal everyday style. Great style is not wearing all the trendy pieces, but the ability to work with what you have and feel great in it.
A dependable wardrobe should primarily consist of quality basics with a splash of frills, trends, and fluff. Not only are basics essential and timeless, but can truly stand alone in an effortlessly stylish and chic way.
