When I stumbled upon this dress I immediately fell in love. The relaxed and flowy silhouette is so right up my alley. Plus I knew it could get plenty of wear in multiple seasons. But when I tried it ON…I had a brief little Rachel Zoe moment. And I must admit, it felt kind of fun! 🙂 The talented stylist/designer’s sense of style has definitely captured my eye over the years. From her bohemian vibes intertwined with a dramatic glamorous and oh so chic presence you can’t deny Rachel’s got STYLE!
In this post I am showing the dress styled in three different ways. Although the changes are minimal, each look offers a little something different.
For the most part my style generally steers more towards a relaxed and reserved aesthetic. With the occasional sprucing up here and there. But in my fashion passion journey, style icons such as Rachel have definitely inspired me to not discount over the top pieces. And to even experiment with them in my own day to day styling. I realize “over the top” pieces are not for everyone and at times not necessarily feasible (unless your Rachel Zoe of course!). But I personally have grown to appreciate and enjoy the varies textures they can bring to a look. It’s like playing dress up with beautiful and fun garments and then bringing all that creative playtime to realtime. For me that is what makes “style” not only personal but magical.
How about that shag/leather vest?? Definitely one of my fun thrifted over the top pieces to play with. At least it’s over the top to me lol! 🙂 Which look is your favorite? Any Rachel Zoe fans?
Now you must know I did NOT refer to any Rachel Zoe outfits prior to styling my own looks in this post. Not that it would have been bad if I had, but I simply grabbed the blazer and shag vest I had in my closet because I felt each would provide a nice variety in showcasing the dress. Well when writing this post I thought I would include a photo of Rachel for reference. Upon my Rachel Zoe google search I was pleasantly surprised to find these shots that reflected similar looks to mine. How weird is that?? Of course I am by NO MEANS comparing my styling efforts to the incomparable style icon! But perhaps my inner Rachel Zoe intuition during that try on session was stronger than I realized. 😉
