After a few rough weeks here in Houston weather wise mother nature decided to bless us with some amazing clear blue skies, low humidity, and hints of chilly breezes. And it has me all pumpkin and spicy inside! 😉 Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons. Crossing my fingers this amazing weather sticks around for awhile.
Here in the south many of us don’t experience true fall weather until about November (if we’re lucky!). So dressing for the occasion can be challenging without the issue of melting. Non the less all traditional festivities that come with this beloved season will be embraced in our shorts and all! 😉
When I purchased this romper I immediately knew it would be the perfect piece for transitioning into the fall months. In today’s post I would like to share a few ways we can incorporate fall vibes in a look even when the weather hasn’t quite got the memo on the seasonal change.
One. CHOOSE GARMENTS IN WARM TONES
Nothing speaks fall like natures natural seasonal shifting color palette. Some of my favorites are: burnt orange, browns, mustard yellow, navy, olive green, and grey. The warm burnt orange in this romper will fit in perfectly with fall festive scenes.
This particular romper is currently out of stock (sniff sniff); however I did find some great comparisons below that you too can rock this fall:
I don’t know about you, but BOOTS are the first thing that come to mind when I think fall wardrobe. With the wide range of styles, textures, and lengths available these days the addition of a boot (aka bootie) is so much more accommodating in varies weather conditions. This romper would look amazing with a variety of boot styles. From a simple low cute chelsea bootie or peep toe to an over the knee – the possibilities are endless.
Here are a few that caught my eye:
Three. LIGHT OUTWEAR
Being that a romper is simply shorts and a top in one, the addition of light outwear won’t necessarily be too overwhelmingly warm, but enough to break off any mild chill. Whether it’s a cardigan, blazer, or light jacket. It’s still a layer and fall fashion is all about fun layers.
Cardigans are really hitting the scene this season so there are some really cute options out there right now. And I have always been a fan of blazers so I’m really digging a good blazer with shorts. So sharp and put together, but with casual ease.
Here are some great options in light outerwear (many have multiple color options):
We all know that accessorizing can take a look to the next level. Play around with hats and scarves that add that nice little fall touch.
Here are a few fun pieces to consider:
What are some ways you like to dress for the season when it’s still a bit warm outside? Any pieces you are eyeing? I would love to hear about them in the comments below.
