This post is pretty much dedicated to this amazing Vintage Cropped Suede Fringe Jacket. Enjoy! Thanks for reading.
Just kidding! But seriously isn’t this jacket great??! And what makes it even better is I scored it for a whopping $2 at a local resale shop!! Yep, those post seasonal sale racks are the best. Seasonal pieces come and go, but we will see that season again so jump on those sales. Now I know resale shops are not everybody’s thing. As a SAHM budgets and frugal mentalities come in handy. So resale has been a life saver for feeding my fashion passion over the years.
You may have gathered from my previous posts here and here that vintage pieces are also a thing in my wardrobe. There is just something so cool about revisiting something from the past and bringing it back to life in a whole new way! As we all know, fashion is always revolving. So I have always felt, if I like it – why not?! Thankfully society is embracing a broader and more open minded perspective in fashion these days. Annoying fashion rules are finally fading and the need to concern whether we are “in or out of style” is no longer necessary. This jacket was a hit at one time in the past and fits right into today just fine.
Now it just so happened that I stumbled across this jacket days after I had pinned a similar vintage jacket on Pinterest (gotta love pinterest for inspiration!). Fringe was really trending at the time so needless to say, I was a bit ecstatic when I found this fringed beauty. And then on top of that – it was vintage AND dirt cheap! It was a good day! 🙂
Moral of my story! You don’t have to spend a lot of money to create stylish looks. With the exception of these jeans and wedge booties, all the other pieces in this look were purchased resale. In fact the bag was resale for $10, but with the tags still on it retailing at $68! There are great deals out there resale or not! With a little research, patience, and at times digging, you too can be on your way to a budget friendly stylish wardrobe.
What are your thoughts on vintage and resale? Do you enjoy finding oldies, but goodies? I personally find the best deals on blazers and outerwear when it comes to resale. What are some of your best buy tricks when it comes to fashion? I would love to hear about them in the comments.
