Culottes and Quirky Elephant Prints

January 10, 2017
GRID CULOTTES, ELEPHANT TOP, BLUE BAG, WHITE SNEAKERS

Who knew culottes and quirky elephant prints would be a turning point for expanding my world in style??!

When piecing this ensemble together I immediately became intrigued. The look included pieces I hadn’t really ever explored before. And although I was quite pleased with the end result, I had reservation on whether I could pull it off. Now I’m not really sure why venturing out with this look felt so scary, but it did! What can I say, I like my comfort zone and culottes and quirky elephant prints were not in it!

CULOTTES, GRID CULLOTES, FOREVER 21, ELEPHANT TOP, COBALT BLUE CROSSBODY, WHITE SNEAKERS

CASUAL CHIC OUTFIT, BLACK AND WHITE CULOTTES, SILK SCARF, BLUE BAG, SNEAKERS

To my surprise the look turned out to feel very me. It was kind of exciting to discover there was more of “me” out there than I knew existed. Culottes – where have you been all my life??!? And these sneakers have been on repeat from the moment I got them! They turned out to be so comfortable and with such classic ease. Great staple for casual chic!

GRID PANTS, ELEPHANT SHIRT, BLUE CROSSBODY, SCARF CHOKER, STREET CHIC

Based on my “brave” story about culottes, it’s safe to say I’m not the most adventurous individual. But looking back at instances throughout the course of my life I’ve come to realize something. I have grown the most in the experiences where I decided to put my big girl pants on (or culottes!) and stepped outside my norm to pursue where I felt led. Whether the end result turned out as I planned or not, the value I gained in the process out weighed if I had just stayed put where it was comfy. And honestly in most cases the experience turned out to be not as scary as it seemed in my head beforehand. Imagine that! 😉

CASUAL OUTFIT, GRID CULOTTES, BLUE CROSSBODY, FOREVER 21, ANN TAYLOR SCARF

I know this read turned more into a self discovery/lessons in life type topic rather than the focus on styling details. But for whatever reason I felt led to share my thoughts behind this one a little further. To anyone that struggles with stepping outside their comfort zone like I do, please be encouraged that if it is meant to be God will lead you every step of the way. Everything will just fall into place as He sees fit. Don’t let the culottes and quirky elephant prints in life prevent you from discovering new found joy, potential, or strength. And to those adventurous individuals out there that continue to provide us encouragement and support through these struggles, thank you!

Thank you so much Jessica. I really appreciate your support…it means more than you know. Thankfully cute and comfy is achievable in today’s world. I think it took a lot of mommy’s stepping into the design scene to make that possible for us, ya know? Have a blessed day. 🙂
